JOB RESPONSBILITIES / ROLE
- Evaluating customer technical needs and recommends solutions; plans, determines requirements, designs, builds, customises, tests, implements, maintains and/or enhances a variety of hardware and
software systems.
- Providing support for system-related software issues, needs, or requirements.
- Collaborating with IT teams and vendors to evaluate, select and implement modern technologies.
- Contributing to the documentation of system configuration, procedures and troubleshooting steps for reference and knowledge sharing.
- Supporting system upgrades, patches and migrations ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Supporting the planning and execution of IT projects, providing technical assurance, and contributing to tasks.
- Staying informed about emerging technologies and industry trends to support continuous improvement in system infrastructure and operations.
- Adhering to the organisations policies, procedures and standards related to systems administration and security.
MANDATORY SKILLS:
- Understanding fundamental concepts of operating systems like windows, Linux, or Unix.
- Knowledge of basic networking principles.
- Basic knowledge of middleware; ability to configure and install software for connecting distributed software and services across diverse platforms.
- Knowledge of basic concepts and activities of systems programming; ability to design, develop and implement operating systems architecture and components.
- Basic knowledge of computer architecture and system software interaction.
- Basic knowledge of application programming interfaces (APIs); ability to write, test, and debug APIs.
- Expert on mainframe operating systems and platforms; ability to develop and support software for various mainframe platforms.
- Good understanding of Partenon banking platform.
- Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
- Being detail orientated in system configurations and documentation.
- Problem-solving abilities to identify technical challenges.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing requirements.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
